OUR CHAT WITH OUR GIRL – JESS HART
1. Welcome back Jess! How does it feel to be back in Australia shooting with Seafolly?
It’s so great to be back. The Seafolly campaigns I did between 2009 and 2011 were some of my favourites. I am really proud and so lucky to be welcomed back! Seafolly continues to set the standard for swimwear both in Australia and abroad so I feel very lucky.
2. What did you think of the Whitsundays?
It’s stunning. From the moment you step off the plane in the Great Barrier Reef airport, it’s just so warm and calming. The colours on the island are incredible. There’s endless stretches of white sand offset by the turquoise sea and it’s so pristine. It was an ideal location to celebrate an Australian summer especially coming in from New York where it was just starting to get cold.
3. What was your favourite part of the shoot?
Whitehaven Beach was definitely the highlight of the trip, and an unforgettable way to wrap up the shoot. It’s such a special location and it was so amazing to experience it with the crew. Our yacht became the heart and soul of the shoot as well. We did all the hair and make-up on the deck and the cabins were converted into styling rooms. We all had such a great time with one another. And shooting on the Seaplane was fun!
4. What was it like working with Olivia?
Olivia is such a sweetheart. For someone who had been modelling under 1 year she was such a pro. We definitely struck up a strong friendship on the shoot and the whole crew loved her.
5. What is your favourite swim style from the High Summer range?
There are some great one pieces arriving this season. The classic Wrap Front Maillot in black was definitely a favourite, as well as the nautical Castaway Stripe strapless piece. I like that it’s sporty yet delicate and feminine. And then of course the Spice Temple Wrap Front Booster and matching Hipster. The print is stunning and I love the mirror detail and tassels.
6. What makes an Australian summer so great?
Summer is synonymous with Australia. There’s so much to do here whether it’s taking a trip to the coast, having friends over for a barbeque or heading to a festival. And the beach is so much more accessible no matter where you live.
We are spoilt for choice!
